Australian travellers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can travel to the USA without having to quarantine. To prepare you for international travel and everything that goes with it, FCBT has put together some handy guides you may want to read before heading to the airport.

What you need to know

USA Arrival

Arrival in the USA

  • Apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) or ensure your ESTA status is valid.
  • Have a COVID-19 test within one day of your flight to the USA.
  • Complete the Travel Attestation Form, if required by the state you are travelling to.
AUS Returning

Returning to Australia

  • Australia does not require COVID-19 tests prior to travel or on arrival for fully vaccinated passengers. Check if your airline requires a COVID-19 test.
  • Complete a Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD) online within 72 hours of your departing flight.
  • Ensure you have your mask with you and your Australian International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) is accessible for your flight home.

Some Australian states may require mandatory quarantine when you arrive home. Click here to view current border regulations. or alternatively contact your Travel Manager.

Here’s a travel checklist to help you on your way to the USA! 

When travelling to the USA remember to:

  • Apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) or ensure your ESTA status is valid
  • Have a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your flight to the USA
  • Complete the Travel Attestation Form, if required by the State you are travelling to
  • Obtain your proof of vaccination using the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC). Download the certificate to your phone and carry a printed version also
  • Ensure you have adequate travel insurance.
